Prototype Injection Molding

What Is Our Prototype Injection Molding Process?

Our prototype injection molding begins with a manufacturing process in which plastic material is forced into a mold cavity under pressure. Pelletized resins are fed into the injection molding machine, as well as any colorants required. The resins and colorants are introduced into an injection barrel where they are heated and melted. The material is then forced into the mold cavity where it cools. Once cooled, the injection molded part can be removed from the cavity. These prototyped plastic parts give engineers the freedom to design parts with rapid, predictable outcomes when they manufacture the same part over and over again.

Our Prototype Injection Molding Machines

With prototype injection molding machines ranging from 7-500 tons we can provide engineering-grade injection molded parts fast and affordable, reducing your time to market. Our variety of press sizes allow us to meet your injection molding needs from 10 to 100,000+ plastic parts.

HOW LARGE OF A PART CAN YOU INJECTION MOLD?

We currently have a shot size range of .152oz – 54oz.

WHAT KIND OF INJECTION MOLDING MACHINES DO YOU RUN AT Ston-Engineering?

We currently have mostly Nissei machines with a couple Nestal machines as well.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL TURNAROUND FOR INJECTION MOLDED PARTS?

Lead times for injection molded parts is dependent upon our workload at the time, as well as various factors such as part geometry and quantity needed. Ston-Engineering has been known to turn parts around within 2 weeks of an order being placed.
